BRAZIL: Top court convicts lawmakers for misusing federal grants
On 17 March a panel of justices on Brazil’s supreme court (STF) convicted two sitting federal deputies and one alternate deputy on charges of passive corruption and criminal organisation, due to their misuse of funds known as ‘emendas parlamentares’, grants from the federal budget allocated to legislators.
