In brief: Mexico’s manufacturing production down month-on-month
*Mexico’s national statistics institute (Inegi) has released the results of its monthly survey on the manufacturing industry, showing a 1.8% drop in production in monthly terms in January and a 0.1% increase year-on-year. This compares to a monthly drop of 0.1% in December when manufacturing production was up 2.9% year-on-year. Employment in the manufacturing industry increased by 0.2% in January as compared to the previous month but was down 2.5% on January 2025.
