*Argentina’s national statistics institute (Indec) has released the latest figures for its consumer price index (IPC), which put monthly inflation in February at 2.9% and annual inflation at 33.1%. In January
monthly inflation was also 2.9% while annual inflation was 32.4%. This marks the first time since August 2025 that there has not been a monthly rise. However, the monthly rate was above the 2.8% median estimate of economists surveyed by Bloomberg, which expects March inflation to edge up due to the impact of the US and Israel’s war with Iran. Of the 12 categories of products and services measured by Indec, the categories with the highest monthly price increases in February were housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels (+6.8%), followed by food and non-alcoholic drinks (+3.3%), and goods and various services (3.3%).
