*Honduras’ central bank (BCH) has released new figures showing that remittances to the country totalled US$939.11m in February, up from US$870.82m in January. This brings total remittances in the first two months of the year to US$1.81bn, up from US$1.63bn in the first two months of 2025. Honduras closed 2025
with total remittances of US$12.21bn, up from US$9.74bn
in 2024. The latest (6 October 2025) update by the World Bank estimates that remittances represent over a quarter of Honduras’ GDP. According to a November 2025 report by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) the US accounts for around 90%
of remittances sent to Honduras.
