*Argentina’s economy minister,
Luis Caputo, has revealed that private energy firm Pampa Energía has requested that a new project be approved under the government’s incentive for large investments scheme (Rigi). According to a social media post by Caputo, the project for upstream activities at Pampa Energía’s Rincón de Aranda field in Neuquén province contemplates investment of over US$4.5bn and is for oil production in the area, as well as the construction of treatment plants and oil and gas pipelines. According to Caputo, inclusion in the scheme would allow the firm to make the northern part of the block viable, adding over 100 new wells, among other things.
