*Colombia’s national statistics department (Dane) has published the consumer price index for January, putting monthly inflation at 1.18% – up from 0.27% in December. This brought the annual inflation rate in January to 5.35%, up from 5.10% the previous month. The categories which saw the steepest monthly price increases in January were restaurants and hotels (+2.94%), transport (+2.14%), alcohol and tobacco (+1.79%), and food and non-alcoholic drinks (+1.66%).
