BRAZIL: Petrobras fined for fluid leak in Amazon oil project
On 7 February Brazil’s federal environmental regulator (Ibama) fined the state oil company Petrobras R$2.5m (US$479,000) for a fluid leak in early January at its controversial oil exploration project in the waters of the equatorial margin, near the mouth of the Amazon River.
