In brief: Economic activity down in monthly terms in Mexico

*Mexico’s national statistics institute (Inegi) has released its latest global indicator of economic activity (Igae), showing that economic activity contracted by 0.2% in November 2025 as compared to the previous month, according to seasonally adjusted figures. This follows a monthly increase of 1.0% in October. In yearly terms, activity increased by 1.1% as compared to November 2024. Activity in the primary (agriculture) sector dropped by 7.0% in monthly terms while those in the tertiary (services) sector were down 0.4%. Activity in the secondary (manufacturing) sector increased by 0.6% as compared to the previous month. In yearly terms, activity in the primary sector were up by 2.9% and those in the tertiary sector increased by 1.5%, while the secondary sector saw activity fall by 0.1%.
