*Brazil’s national council of coffee exports (Cecafé) has released the annual figures for the country’s exports, showing a total of 40.05m sacks of coffee (one sack = 60kg) exported in 2025. This is down 20.8% compared to the 50.58m sacks exported in 2024. Regarding the major coffee varieties, arabica exports totalled 32.31m sacks in 2025, down 12.8% compared to 2024, while robusta exports stood at 4.00m sacks, down 57.3% on the previous year. In a press release, Cecafé stated that 2024 was a strong year for exports, downplaying concern over the lower results for 2025, but the association also highlighted issues such as the
steep US tariffs, which were in force on coffee from August to late November 2025, as a factor that drove the annual decrease in exports.
