In brief: Argentina’s central bank makes another dollar purchase

*Argentina’s central bank (BCRA) has bought US$83m on the foreign exchange market, boosting its international reserves to US$44.19bn. This is the second such purchase since the government led by President Javier Milei launched a new monetary programme on 2 January, following a purchase of US$21m on 5 January. The purchases come as the BCRA is undertaking a reserve accumulation process in line with the demands of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
