MEXICO: Sugar tariffs imposed to protect local industry

Mexico ramped up tariffs to as much as 210% on sugar imports from countries without trade deals on 10 November, in a move designed to protect the domestic sugar industry from falling international prices and trade “distortions” resulting in oversupply.
