On 5 December Brazilian senator Flávio Bolsonaro (Partido Liberal, PL), the eldest son of former president Jair Bolsonaro (2019-2023), announced that he had his father’s blessing to run in the 2026 presidential election as the candidate for the far-right ‘Bolsonarismo’ movement.
