As this issue went to press the right-wing Nasry ‘Tito’ Asfura had seized the narrowest of margins in the painfully slow count of votes from the 30 November presidential elections in Honduras, pushing the centrist candidate Salvador Nasralla into second place. US President Donald Trump has been doing all he can to secure an Asfura victory.
