In brief: Remittances to Mexico continue to fall year-on-year
*Mexico’s central bank (Banxico) has announced that remittances sent to the country in October totalled US$5.64bn, representing a year-on-year decrease of 1.7%. This marks the seventh consecutive month of year-on-year declines, following annual drops of 2.7% in September, 8.3% in August, 4.7% in July, 16.2% in June, 4.6% in May, and 12.1% in April. Accumulated remittances received between January and October 2025 totalled US$51.34bn, down 5.1% on the US$54.09bn received in the same period of 2024.
