*Argentina’s national statistics institute (Indec) has released its latest monthly estimate of economic activity (Emae), showing a monthly increase of 0.5% in September. This is down from the 0.7% increase registered in August but up from 0.1% in July according to updated figures, which follow two consecutive monthly decreases in June (-0.4%) and May (-0.2%). Economic activity in September was also up 5.0% on the same month last year, up from a 2.5% year-on-year increase in August. The categories that registered the greatest yearly increases in September were fishing (+58.2%) and financial services (+39.7%). The only two categories to post year-on-year decreases in activity were manufacturing (-1.0%), and public administration and defence and compulsory social security schemes (-0.7%).
