In brief: Monthly remittances to Honduras fall
*Honduras’ central bank (BCH) has released new figures indicating that remittances to the country totalled US$1.06bn in October, down from US$1.14bn in September. This brings total remittances for the year to US$10.14bn, up from US$8.05bn in the same period in 2024. Remittances to Honduras totalled US$9.74bn in 2024, up from US$9.18bn in 2023. The latest (2024) World Bank figures estimate that remittances account for 25.7% of Honduras’ GDP.
