In brief: Inflation slows in Chile

*Chile’s national statistics institute (INE) has released inflation figures for October, which showed monthly inflation was unchanging while annual inflation stood at 3.4%. This marks a decrease from monthly inflation of 0.4% and an annual rate of 4.4% in September. Of the 13 categories of products and services measured by the INE, six categories registered a monthly rise in prices, five registered a drop, and two registered negligible changes. Alcoholic drinks and tobacco (+1.6%) registered the greatest monthly price increase, while clothing and footwear (-3.1%) and information and communication (-1.1%) recorded the largest drops. According to Bloomberg, the annual rate is the lowest in Chile since April 2021.
