CHILE: Jara makes pitch for centre ground
On 6 November Jeannette Jara, the presidential candidate for Chile’s ruling left-of-centre coalition, said she would suspend or renounce her membership of the Partido Comunista de Chile (PCCh) if she wins the election, as it has caused “so much controversy”, to enable her to concentrate exclusively on governing for all Chileans.
