*Uruguay’s national statistics institute (INE) has released the official inflation figures for October, putting monthly inflation at 0.40% and annual inflation at 4.32%. The latest monthly figure saw a slight decrease from 0.42%
in September but the annual rate in October marks an acceleration from the 4.25% figure registered for the previous month. The categories with the highest monthly price rises were clothing and footwear (+2.07%), food and non-alcoholic drinks (+0.85%), and personal care and various goods (+0.75%). The only category to register monthly deflation was insurance and financial services (-0.21%).
