*Peru’s ministry of foreign trade and tourism (Mincetur) has announced that exports totalled US$62.86bn between January and September, an increase of 17.3% on the same period in 2024. This was the result of a 9.4% increase in export volume and a 7.3% increase in prices. Mining exports rose by 19.3% year-on-year to US$40.92bn, with gold exports hitting a record US$13.93bn. Agricultural exports increased by 21.4% to total US$9.81bn, with Mincetur highlighting record exports of avocados (US$1.45bn) and cocoa beans (US$821m). China remained the top export destination over the first nine months of the year, accounting for US$22.91bn (+23.0% year-on-year), followed by the European Union (US$7.24bn, +23.6%), and the US (US$6.71bn, +8.2%).
