in April. Accumulated remittances received between January and September 2025 totalled US$45.68bn, down 5.5% on the US$48.36bn received in the same period of 2024. Remittances from the US have come under pressure from a new remittance tax of 1% and the hardline anti-migration measures being implemented by the government of President
Donald Trump.
