In brief: Remittances to Honduras rise

*Honduras’ central bank (BCH) has released new figures showing that remittances sent to Honduras in September totalled US$1.14bn. This is up from US$1.03bn in July and the highest monthly total so far this year. It brings the total for the first nine months of the year to US$9.08bn. Remittances to Honduras totalled US$9.74bn in 2024, up from US$9.18bn in 2023. The latest (2024) World Bank figures estimate that remittances account for 25.7% of Honduras’ GDP.
