In brief: Oil production rises in Venezuela
*The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (Opec) has published its latest monthly oil market report, in which Venezuela claimed to have produced 1.11m barrels of oil per day (bpd) in September, up slightly from 1.10m bpd in August. Opec’s own estimate, based on secondary sources, put Venezuelan oil production in September at 967m bpd, up from 940m bpd in August.
