BRAZIL: Government’s income tax exemption bill passes lower house
On 1 October the lower chamber of Brazil’s congress approved one of the top legislative priorities for President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, a bill that proposes an exemption from income tax (IR) for individuals with a monthly income of up to R$5,000 (US$938).
