in April. Accumulated remittances received over the first seven months of 2025 totalled US$34.89bn, down 5.5% on the US$36.92bn received in the same period of 2024. Remittance flows from the US have come under pressure from a new remittance tax of 1% and the hardline anti-migration measures being implemented by the government of President
Donald Trump.
