*Chile’s agricultural and livestock service (SAG) has announced a suspension of poultry imports from Argentina in response to an outbreak of bird flu in the town of Los Toldos, Buenos Aires province. The SAG said that poultry imports produced before 5 August will be accepted. It noted that between July 2024 and August 2025, Argentina accounted for 8% of Chile’s poultry meat exports and 30% of fresh egg imports at 7,648 tonnes and 704 tonnes, respectively. China also suspended poultry imports from Argentina as of 20 August in response to bird flu concerns on international media reports.
