NICARAGUA/COLOMBIA: Tension over granting of asylum request
On 21 August Colombia’s government led by President Gustavo Petro rejected the decision by the Nicaraguan government led by President Daniel Ortega to authorise political asylum to Carlos Ramón González, the former director of Colombia’s national intelligence service (DNI).
