BRAZIL: Bolsonaro coup plot trial approaches final phase
On 14 August Brazilian supreme court (STF) justice Alexandre de Moraes requested the court’s ‘Primeira Turma’ (First Chamber) to schedule a date for the judgment of former president Jair Bolsonaro (2019-2023) and his allies who stand accused of plotting a military coup in 2022 to help Bolsonaro stay in power.
