In brief: Inflation edges up in Paraguay

*Paraguay’s central bank (BCP) has released inflation figures for July, which showed a monthly inflation rate of 0.4% and an annual rate of 4.3%. This is up from monthly inflation of 0% in June, when the annual rate stood at 4.0%. The core inflation rate in July, which excludes items with volatile prices such as food and fuels, stood at 0.1% in monthly terms, down slightly from 0.2% in June, and 4.0% in annual terms, remaining unchanged from the previous two months.
