MEXICO: CNB head resigns

Teresa Reyes Sahagún, the controversial head of Mexico’s national search commission (CNB), will be stepping down from her role on 31 August, the interior ministry (Segob) has announced. Reyes, who is affiliated with the ruling left-wing Movimiento Regeneración Nacional (Morena), has been in the role since October 2023, when she was appointed following the resignation of Karla Quintana, who left amid reported differences with the government of former president Andrés Manuel López Obrador (2018-2024).
