Chile’s President Gabriel Boric hosted a summit on democracy in Santiago on 21 July attended by left-leaning leaders in the region, including Brazil’s President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, Colombia’s Gustavo Petro, and Uruguay’s Yamandú Orsi, as well as Spain’s Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez.
