*Brazil’s national federation of automobile dealers (Fenabrave) has released its figures for vehicle sales for the first half of this year, showing that sales totalled 2.34m units, up 6.99% compared to the same period in 2024. From January-June, the vehicle categories that posted the greatest year-on-year sales increases were buses, with 14,116 units sold (+24.5%); light commercial vehicles, with 252,665 units sold (+10.7%); and motorcycles, registering 1.03m units sold (+10.3%). Fenabrave’s latest report also showed the sales figures for the month of June, which totalled 410,602 units sold. This is down 6.4% from May but up 2.6% from June 2024. In June the category with the greatest monthly decrease was light commercial vehicles, with 43,036 units sold (-8.1%), although in year-on-year terms the category posted an increase of 11.3%, the highest yearly rise for any category.
