In brief: International tourism in Argentina drops in May
*Argentina’s national statistics institute (Indec) has released its latest figures for international tourism, showing that 572,900 foreign visitors came to Argentina in May, down from 699,300 the previous month and 667,700 in the same month last year. Of the total number of foreign visitors in May 2025, 315,400 were tourists and 257,500 were day-trippers. Most visitors to Argentina last month were from other South American countries. Brazilians accounted for 23.7% of total foreign visitors, 14.1% were Uruguayans, and 13.2% came from Chile.
