*Brazil’s national statistics institute (Ibge) has released its figures for the country’s services sector in April, showing a 0.2% monthly rise in the volume of services provided and a 1.8% rise compared to April last year. The accumulated services volume for the 12 months until April 2025 was up 2.7% from the preceding 12-month period. April marks the third consecutive month to post a monthly increase in services volume, although the rise in April was lower that the 0.9% increase in February and the 0.4% rise in March. Despite the overall monthly increase, transport was the only of the five categories measured by the Ibge which posted a rise in volume, up 0.5%. Of the other four categories, the greatest monthly decreases were registered in other services (-2.3%) and professional, administrative, and complementary services (-0.5%).
