REGION: New regional police force to tackle organised crime

The heads of police of El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala participated in a meeting in Esquipulas, Chiquimula department in southern Guatemala on 6 October to discuss the threat posed by organised crime. In particular, crime involving the mara gangs which are so prevalent in the Northern Triangle countries.
