*Argentina’s national statistics institute (Indec) has released new figures showing that the unemployment rate of the economically active population was 6.4% in the fourth quarter of 2024, equating to 937,000 people. This is down from an unemployment rate of 6.9% in the third quarter, 7.6% in the second quarter, and 7.7% in the first quarter of 2024. However, it is above the rate of 5.7% recorded in the fourth quarter of 2023. The underemployment rate in the final quarter of 2024 stood at 11.3%, down from 11.4% in the previous quarter but up from 10.5% in the same quarter of 2023.
