In brief: Chile’s inflation slows

*Chile’s national statistics institute (INE) has published the most recent data for the consumer price index (CPI), indicating that monthly inflation for February was 0.4%, bringing the yearly rate to 4.7%. This represents a decrease from the 1.1% monthly inflation rate in January, when the yearly rate was 4.9%. Out of the 13 categories measured in the CPI, the categories to register the largest monthly price increases were clothing & footwear (+2.3%), transport (+1.0%) and alcohol & tobacco (+1.0%).
