NGOs alarmed over government’s security policies

International human rights organisations Amnesty International (AI) and Human Rights Watch (HRW) have recently released reports expressing concern over the security policies pursued by Argentina’s government under President Javier Milei and other risks to upholding human rights. Over one year into its term, the Milei government shows no sign of rolling back on its hardline security approach, with Security Minister Patricia Bullrich dismissing the criticisms from civil society groups as being ideologically driven.
