BRAZIL: Lula’s disapproval surpasses approval rating
National pollster Genial/Quaest released its latest poll on 27 January which showed a 49% public disapproval rating for Brazil’s President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, while 47% of respondents expressed approval. This is Lula’s lowest approval rating registered by Genial/Quaest since his current term began at the start of 2023. The month of January has seen few positive headlines and reasons to be cheerful over the government’s performance, and public concern is rising over the Lula administration’s handling of the economy.
