Widely described in the media as a warning shot for Brazil’s former president Jair Bolsonaro (2019-2023), the federal police (PF) arrested General Walter Braga Netto on 14 December. Braga Netto was Bolsonaro’s running mate in the 2022 presidential race and is believed to have played a key role in an alleged plot to launch a military insurrection [WR-24-47].
