In brief: Mexico reports decline in job growth in November

*Mexico’s national social security institute (IMSS) has reported that 24,696 jobs were created in the formal sector in November down from 138,139 in October and 90,968 in September. According to the IMSS, 619,252 formal jobs were created in Mexico from January to November 2024. The economic sectors with the highest annual percentage growth in jobs in November were transportation and communications (+5%) trade (+2.8%), and electricity (+2%), as reported in the local media. As of 30 November 2024, the IMSS had registered a total of 22.64m jobs.
