COSTA RICA | IFC invests in Costa Rican firm to boost access to medicines. The International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private-sector lending arm of the World Bank (WB) has announced that it is investing up to US$20m in Costa Rica-based pharmaceutical firm Grupo Farmanova Intermed (GFI), aiming to expand access to “high-quality, effective, and safe medications for the populations of Central America and the Caribbean”.
