In brief: Mexico’s economic activity edges up in September

*Mexico’s national statistics institute (Inegi) has released its latest global indicator of economic activity (IGAE), revealing a slight uptick in Mexico’s economic activity. In September, economic activity increased by 0.2% in monthly terms. Activities in the primary (agriculture) sector increased by 1.3% and the secondary (manufacturing) sector by 0.6%. However, activities in the tertiary (services) sector saw a slight decline of 0.1%. In annual terms, the IGAE recorded an increase of 0.8% in real terms: primary activities climbed by 0.6% and the tertiary sector increased by 1.1%. Secondary activities showed no changes.
