In brief: Nicaragua’s exports up

*Nicaragua’s central bank (BCN) has released new figures which show the country’s exports totalled US$1.94bn in the third quarter of 2024, up 2.3% on the same quarter in 2023. This brings the total in the first nine months of the year to US$5.89bn, up 0.1% on the same period in 2023. Meanwhile imports in the third quarter of 2024 were US$2.67bn, up 1.8% on the same quarter in 2023, bringing the total for the first nine months of the year to US$7.97bn, up 8.1% on the same period in 2023.
