GUATEMALA: Gov’t implicates ex-president Giammattei in corruption case

On 4 November Guatemala’s left-of-centre government led by President Bernardo Arévalo announced it would file a criminal complaint against former president Alejandro Giammattei (2020-2024), a former head of the presidential planning secretariat (Segeplan), Keila Gramajo, and a former president of the national electrification institute (Inde), Melvin Quijivix Vega.
