MEXICO: Journalist killings raise scrutiny on Sheinbaum
Mexican journalists Mauricio Cruz Solís and Patricia Ramírez González were killed within 24 hours of each other on 29 and 30 October. They are the first journalists to be murdered since President Claudia Sheinbaum took office on 1 October. The way in which the president responds to the incidents will be an early indication of how seriously her administration is going to take violence against the press.
