BRAZIL: Alleged killers of Marielle Franco stand trial
On 30 October a court in Brazil’s Rio de Janeiro state began the trial of Ronnie Lessa and Élcio Vieira de Queiroz, the alleged perpetrators of one of the country’s most high-profile political assassinations, that of Rio de Janeiro city councillor Marielle Franco in 2018.
