CUBA: No power for the Communist Party?

One of the country’s worst-ever power failures paralysed Cuban society and its economy over the weekend, while Hurricane Oscar brought destruction to the east of the island, claiming more than six lives. The Partido Comunista de Cuba (PCC) knows a thing or two about political survival after six and a half decades in power, but it has so far proved to be unequal to this level of chaos.
