*Mexico’s national statistics institute (Inegi) has announced that 116,543 light vehicles were sold in the domestic market in September, down 1.45% as compared to September 2023. In the first nine months of 2024, however, 1.08m light vehicle were sold, up 10.53% on the same period of 2023. According to Inegi, 378,583 light vehicles were produced in September 2024, up 11.71% on the same month in 2023, while 3.03m light vehicles were produced in the first nine months of the year, up 6.13% on the same period in 2023. In terms of exports, 315,706 light vehicles were exported in September 2024, up 4.77% from September 2023, with 2.59m exported in the January-September period, up 7.05% on the same period in 2023.
