Oil and gas production posts monthly increase. The federal oil and gas regulator (ANP) released its latest production figures on 1 October, which showed that the national production of oil and natural gas in August totalled 4.35m barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd). Oil production came to 3.34m barrels of oil per day (bpd), up 3.4% from July but down 3.5% compared with August 2023. Natural gas production totalled 159.9m cubic metres per day (m
3/d), up 5.6% in monthly terms and up 8.0% year-on-year. The oil field which saw the highest production figures in August was the Tupi field, in the Santos basin, near Brazil’s south-eastern coast, which registered 832,600 bpd and 43,190 m
3/d.
